The scenic beauty of the Santa Ynez Valley located in the Central California Coast is the draw and we have found that autumn is the perfect time of year for a fixed base ride. Join us starting Sunday, October 17, 2010 for five days of wonderful moderate riding, fine wine and good food. The last day of riding is Friday, October 22, 2010. All rides begin and end in Solvang, a small quaint Danish town that exudes hospitality. The routes were scouted in October 2009 and will be again in March 2010. The region boasts more than 70 world class wineries and tasting rooms, fine restaurants, horse ranches, and two historic missions. The area is also a training spot for professional bicycling teams, and hosted a stage of the Amgen Tour of California from 2007-9. If we’re really fortunate, we will get to dodge lovelorn male tarantulas marching along the roads in search of mates (arachnid cruising!). Maps and route sheets will be furnished for rides 20-50 miles rated from 2A to 3B. The cost of $1000 covers the $50 non-refundable BAC fee, six nights at Hotel Corque, organizational costs, happy hour expenses, two dinners and a wine tasting at a local winery. Singles should try to find their own roommates, but ride leaders will assist. The single supplement is an additional $569. To submit a request to join this ride, click the link at the bottom of this Ride Description. After e-mail acceptance, please mail $300 per person deposit to the Ride Director along with the waiver of liability forms. BAC members may contact the Ride Director by “clicking” the name at the top of this Ride Description. Cancellation Policy: Once your deposit has been received, the cancellation fee is $100 per person (which includes the $50 nonrefundable BAC Registration Fee). Within 6 weeks of the ride, additional cancellation fees may apply for non-cancelable accommodations or if your cancellation increases the cost to other riders. Solo riders who have a roommate and cancel will be liable for single supplement charges if no replacement can be found. Refunds due to cancellation will not be processed until after the ride. Since this is a fixed base ride, there will be no support vehicle. |
