OVERVIEW: If you want to lead a BAC ride but don't know where to start then participate in the BAC Zoom Ride Leader Seminar in 4 two hour sessions in February 2022.
Dates: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2/8, 2/10, 2/15 and 2/17
Time: 7:30 – 9:30 PM EST (4:30 – 6:30 PST) for each session.
The program will feature
· On-line classes via Zoom
· Team projects between sessions
· Frequent knowledge checks with quizzes, games, and activities.
Experienced presenters (ride leaders and board members) will provide the tools you need to lead a successful BAC ride in the USA and international locations. We will cover how to lead all types of rides including point-to-point, fixed-based, self-directed, and commercially assisted. You will learn all aspects of leading rides from developing, budgeting and planning, to leading the ride and finalizing all paperwork. Each seminar participant will learn how to access resources needed to propose and manage tours.
This training was offered in November 2020 and received rave reviews from the participants. Since that time, nearly all of the participants have successfully proposed BAC tours of their own.
Our goal is that participants will master the knowledge and skills needed to successfully propose a ride within 12 months of completing the seminar and to successfully lead the tour.
Tuesday Feb. 8: BAC Overview; BAC Resources; The role of the ride leader; and Initial Planning
Thursday Feb.10: Proposing your ride; Ride Rating; Budget; Writing the Ride Proposal; and Deep Dive into Hotels.
Tuesday Feb.15: After your ride has been approved; During your ride; After your ride; and Deep Dive: Successful Social Hours.
Thursday Feb. 17: Insurance; Covid 19 Precautions; Working with a Mentor, and Commercially Assisted Tours (CATS).
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: This seminar is primarily for BAC members who are interested in leading a ride for the first time. It is also helpful for those who have previously led BAC rides and want more training. If seminar registration reaches the maximum number of 30 participants, preference will be given to first-time ride leaders.
COST & ADMINISTRATION: The cost of the seminar is $15 plus the BAC registration fee of $50. (The BAC fee will be refunded to participants who complete the seminar.) This special rate of $15 is provided cover the costs of the training and to encourage members to consider giving back to the club by becoming Ride Leaders.
