Ride Description

SUMMARY: This is a repeat of the successful 2015 ride through one of America’s most beautiful National Parks.  There will be 5 layover days allowing riders to rest and take in all of the sights of Yellowstone National Park.

RIDE DESCRIPTIONS and RATINGS:
Day 1 We will meet at the Holiday Inn Express in Belgrade, Montana.  The hotel provides a shuttle service to and from the Belgrade airport.  Bike box storage is available for everyone's bike boxes.  Alaska, United and Delta fly into Belgrade.
Day 2 (53 miles & 2,650 ft. - 3C) We will travel south and west from Belgrade to the small town of Ennis Montana.
Day 3 (72 miles & 2890 ft. - 3D) This is our longest day.  We will ride along the Montana plains viewing antelope before passing the famous Quake lake.  We continue riding along Hebgren Lake before turning south into West Yellowstone.
Day 4 Is an off day.  However there are various smaller rides available.
Day 5 (32 miles & 1,610 ft. - 2A) Today is a scenic day as we leave West Yellowstone and ride into Yellowstone Park to Old Faithful.  The lodging is in the Old Faithful Lodge where Old Faithful shoots off about every 70 minutes.
Day 6  Is an off day.
Day 7 (38 miles &, 2,750 ft. - 3B) We leave Old Faithful and have a nice climb before riding along Yellowstone Lake to Lake Village.  Along the way we will see steaming mud pots.
Day 8 is an off day.
Day 9 (16 miles & 1,336 ft. - 2A) Lake Village to Canyon Village, where we will walk along the Yellowstone River looking at the beautiful sight of Yellowstone Falls.
Day 10 is an off day.
Day 11 (33 miles & 1,142 ft - 2A) Canyon Village to Mammoth Hot Springs.  For the next two nights we stay at the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel where all rooms share a bathroom down the hallway.  We will be there during the elk-rutting season, and yes you most likely will be awaken in the middle of the night to their bulging!
Day 12 is an off day.  For those who wish to soak in a natural hot spring, there is a hot spring that flows into the Gardner River 4-5 miles from Mammoth Hot Springs…A great way to relax!
Day 13 (62 miles & 1,800 ft. - 2C) Today we leave Yellowstone and ride thru Gardiner, Mt and along both sides of the Yellowstone river to Livingston.
Day 14 (41 Miles & 2,100 ft. - 2B)  Today we ride along the frontage and a beautiful back country road into Bozeman before heading into Belgrade.

NOTES: Elevations – the base/lowest elevation is 4,454 ft. in Belgrade, and the highest point on the tour is about 8,262 ft.  As customary on BAC bike tours, you should be prepared to make any necessary bicycle repairs while underway.  The weather can change from hot (80+ degrees) to snow.  The tour leader has ridden the route, and has previously led the same tours.

COSTS:
The estimated costs include all 14 hotel/motel nights, 5 breakfasts, 14 lunches*, 14 Happy Hours, and two dinners.  We will stay 8 nights in Yellowstone National Park’s facilities with the remainder of nights at quality national chain hotels.  Note:  If you have a National Park Pass, please bring it.
*Notes on lunches & happy hours:  Participants will make their own lunches each day after breakfast with a nice variety of products which will be provided, such as sliced meats, cheeses, cookies, power bars, and fruit.  Also, participants will be asked to assist on a rotational basis with set-up of lunch and happy hours.

SINGLES AND SOLOS:
Costs are based on double occupancy. Singles are welcomed, and if you do not have a roommate, we can assist you by providing names of others looking to share a room. If you wish to room alone, a single supplement is available at $1,300.00.

CANCELLATION POLICY
The BAC registration fee is not refundable unless the entire tour is cancelled.  Refunds will depend upon whether a replacement rider signs up, and on costs that can be recouped. The amount refunded will be based on the principle that remaining tour participants will not incur any additional cost as a result of cancellations. If the canceling participant is replaced, a refund will be made at that time. If the canceling participant can't be replaced, any refund will be determined after the ride and final expense report is completed.  If a single participant cancels and another roommate cannot be found, in addition to other costs that cannot be recouped, the cancelling roommate may also be liable for the single supplement fee of the roommate remaining on the tour.

RIDE PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITY:
BAC tours depend on participants providing much or their own support.  Participants are expected to come to the ride well trained, in good health and ready to accomplish the required daily riding using well-maintained bicycles.   All participants should accept responsibility for a safe and enjoyable tour. Support our Ride Leaders, read the ride description carefully, respond promptly to calls for payments and emails from the ride leader.  At the ride, offer to help with various tasks such as happy hour preparation.  And do not interfere with the ride by inviting non-participants onto any portion of the ride or tour.  Please keep the ride leader informed of any special request you may have and respect the ride leader’s decisions.

SIGN-UP:
To submit a request to join this ride use the "links" displayed above this Ride Description.  Following your acceptance and receipt of your $1,100 deposit (which does not include the $50 BAC registration fee) your name will be added to the Participant List.  The BAC registration fee will be paid directly by credit card when you sign the Release of Liability (ROL) form electronically.
