This 12-day Vietnam to Cambodia cycling adventure is a commercially assisted tour with bikes provided by the tour operator, beginning in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam and ending in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The tour starts in the afternoon on February 8, 2027 with an orientation and bike fitting in Ho Chi Minh City. Starting Hotel (Saigon): The Majestic Hotel, a landmark colonial hotel located on the Saigon River (https://www.majesticsaigon.com/ (https://www.majesticsaigon.com/)).
Designed to work equally well as a stand-alone journey or as the southern precursor to Lucy Glover’s Northern Vietnam E-Mountain Bike Tour, allowing riders to extend their experience seamlessly from Vietnam’s Mekong Delta into the northern highlands. Riders who wish to do both tours can book a flight from Siem Reap to Hanoi.
The journey takes riders from the energetic streets of southern Vietnam into the peaceful waterways of the Mekong Delta, showcasing lush rice paddies, coconut groves, floating markets, and traditional riverside communities. Daily rides follow quiet rural roads and canal paths through Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Can Tho, Long Xuyen, and Chau Doc, offering an in-depth look at life along the Mekong River.
From Chau Doc, the tour continues by speedboat upstream on the Mekong, crossing the Vietnam–Cambodia border by river en route to Phnom Penh. After time to explore Cambodia’s capital, cycling resumes north through Kampong Thom and into Siem Reap.
The final days of the tour are spent cycling among the Angkor temples, local villages, and along the shores of Tonle Sap Lake, concluding on February 19, 2027 after riding within the Angkor temple complex, one of Southeast Asia’s most iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The daily schedule is below.

Bikes Included (E-Bikes or Regular Bikes)
Bicycles are included for all participants. High-quality e-bikes are the standard inclusion for this tour, selected to ensure the group can comfortably cover the planned distances while fully enjoying the scenery and cultural experiences. Riders may choose a regular (non-electric) mountain bike instead of an e-bike if they prefer. To ensure a positive experience for all riders regardless of bike choice, participants will be divided into smaller sub-groups during riding segments. This allows riders on regular bikes to maintain a comfortable, self-selected pace without feeling pressured by the speed or range of e-bikes.
Health and Safety: Participants are expected to come to the tour in good health and ready to ride. Should someone's health become compromised and the group’s health and safety placed in jeopardy, a plan will be developed by the ride leader(s) and communicated to all individuals. The expectation is for the group to work together to mitigate any spread of infection or illness as a means to ensure the tour can continue as planned.
Participants should refer to Vietnam Travel Health Notices and Vaccines and Medicines at https://wwwnc.cdc.gov/travel/destinations/traveler/none/vietnam. The CDC says to make sure you are up-to-date on all routine vaccines before every trip. If you have questions ask your doctor.
Visas:
Vietnam: You must obtain a Vietnamese visa prior to travel. Most participants will apply for a Vietnam e-Visa, which is valid for up to 90 days and may be issued for single or multiple entry. The application is completed online through the official government portal at: https://evisa.gov.vn/.
The e-visa fee is $25 USD for single entry or $50 USD for multiple entry. The fee is paid through the e-visa portal and is non-refundable if the visa is not granted. Applicants should be prepared to upload passport information and confirm travel details. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry. Airlines and immigration authorities routinely verify documentation prior to departure and upon arrival.
Cambodia: U.S. and Canadian citizens are required to obtain a tourist visa to enter Cambodia. A 30-day single-entry tourist e-visa may be obtained in advance through the official Cambodian government website at: https://www.evisa.gov.kh/.
Applicants complete an online form and pay a $30 USD visa fee plus a $7 USD processing charge. Approval is typically issued within three business days. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond your date of entry into Cambodia.
Participants are responsible for securing both visas prior to departure and for ensuring all entry requirements are met.
Ride Rating: The tour is rated 1B. The terrain is mostly flat. The average distance is 40 miles. Only about 5% to 10% of the riding will be on busy roads. The rest of the tour focuses on quieter, more scenic routes, with 5% to 10% on unpaved paths between villages.
Cue sheets, maps, GPS files: Ride with GPS links with generated cue sheets will be provided so riders can download routes to their devices. It is each rider’s responsibility to be familiar with the use of their GPS unit or phone app prior to the start of the tour. A physical map of Vietnam and Cambodia will also be provided.
Weather: February is an ideal time for cycling in southern Vietnam and Cambodia. Daytime temperatures typically range from 20°C–30°C (68°F–86°F), with cooler mornings and evenings. This period falls within the dry season and generally brings low humidity and minimal rainfall; however, riders should be prepared for a range of conditions including warm sun, occasional breezes, and the possibility of brief showers.
Lodging & Meals: Lodging, Meals, & Happy/Social Hour: The hotels vary from modern deluxe city hotels, retreats, resorts and charming local lodges, all displaying Vietnamese hospitality. All rooms have private bathrooms and hot showers.
The tour includes 10 breakfasts, 9 lunches and 7 dinners. Daily Happy/Social Hours will have a choice of drinks. We use your BAC Preferences to try and accommodate your special medical and dietary needs. Vegetarian meals are available.

Singles are welcome but encouraged to find compatible roommates and/or riding partners. Ride Directors will introduce and assist singles to find roommates, but singles must make their own rooming decision. Due to hotel limitations, there will be no solos, just doubles on this tour.
Cancellation Policy: The BAC Ride Registration Fee and Payment Processing Fees are not refundable unless the entire tour is canceled because the number of participants registered is less than the minimum established for the tour. Refunds of tour payments will depend upon whether a replacement rider signs up, and on costs that can be recouped. The amount refunded will be based on the principle that the tour’s remaining participants will not incur any additional cost as a result of cancellations. If the canceling participant is replaced, a refund will be made at that time. If the canceling participant can't be replaced, any refund will be determined after the ride and final expense report are completed. If a single participant cancels and another roommate cannot be found, in addition to other costs that cannot be recouped the canceling roommate may also be liable for the solo supplement fee of the roommate remaining on the tour. BAC encourages members to purchase trip cancellation insurance.
Ride Participant Responsibility: Please remember that BAC Ride Coordinators are volunteers, and that successful tours depend on participants providing much of their own support. Participants are expected to come to the ride well trained, in good health and ready to accomplish the required daily riding using well-maintained bicycles. All participants should accept responsibility for a safe and enjoyable tour. We encourage you to read the ride description carefully and respond to requests from the Ride Coordinator. While on the ride, support your Ride Coordinator with offers to help with various tasks such as happy hour preparation and cleanup. Please do not interfere with the ride by inviting non-participants onto any portion of the ride or tour. Please keep the Ride Coordinator informed of any special request you might have and respect the Ride Coordinator’s decisions.
Commercial Tour Operator Insurance: Mr. Biker Saigon carries $100K of general liability insurance. The insurance policy for the tour is attached under Ride Leader Docs. Additional information can be obtained by contacting the ride coordinator.
Insurance Statement: BAC maintains two insurance policies: a) United States, and b) Foreign (all other countries). Both the U.S. and Foreign policies are considered secondary policies to your personal medical insurance policy. They are subject to a $1000 deductible and may not cover all expenses related to an accident. Copies of the current policies are located under the “Docs” tab on the BAC website.
Before participating in any BAC tour, you should assess whether your medical and travel insurance coverage is sufficient. While touring in the U.S, the BAC insurance includes coverage for injuries due to accidents during the bike trip. Members’ personal insurance will need to cover medical emergencies such as sudden and unexpected illness (i.e. treatment for unexpected illnesses, including Covid, are not covered).
While touring internationally, i.e., outside of the U.S., BAC maintains Foreign accident insurance to assist with expenses related to accidents, medical emergencies (including sudden and unexpected sickness), and repatriation. Insurance will apply door-to-door for treatment and travel for a maximum of 90 days overall. Coverage extends to a limited period spanning the published BAC trip dates, allowing for side trips occurring before and after the BAC ride; the limitation period is 7 days before or after the published BAC trip dates. The policy covers the cost of treatment for Covid and other unexpected illnesses, but not quarantine.
Sign-up: To register for this ride, use the sign-up links just above the Ride Description. After preliminary acceptance, you will be moved to the pending list and receive an email requesting you to go back to the BAC site to digitally accept the terms of the Release of Liability (ROL), and pay the Tour Deposit and the non-refundable BAC Ride Registration Fee by credit card. There is a $150.00 international ride fee. As soon as your deposit has been processed, your name(s) will be added to the Participant List. BAC members with questions may contact the Ride Director by "clicking" the name at the top of this Ride Description.
