Ride Description

OVERVIEW
This wonderful ride takes us across Washington and Idaho and into Montana and thru Glacier National Park.  We’ll be treated to views of the spectacular glaciated Olympic Mountains and Mt Rainer as we leave the Seattle area.  We’ll experience riding over the Cascade Mountains at Stevens Pass and the Continental Divide in Glacier National Park. We’ll follow many rivers including the Columbia, Okanogan, Colville, Pend Oreille, Kootenai, and Flat Head River.  The pinnacle of our ride will be conquering the “Going-to-the-Sun” road, which was completed in 1931, and is listed as one of the “FIFTY PLACES TO BIKE BEFORE YOU DIE”.  Going-To-The-Sun has the special distinction of being the only American roadway designated both as a National Historic Landmark and a Historical Civil Engineering Landmark. At the end of the ride, we’ll kick back and enjoy an overnight train ride back to Seattle…Naturally on a sleeper!

COST & ADMINISTRATION
The estimated cost of $3,400 per person includes: 19 nights of lodging (double occupancy), 2 group dinners, 9 breakfasts, 19 lunches, 1 train ticket (sleeper), social hour expenses, maps, route sheets, and the $50 BAC Ride Registration fee. The initial deposit will be $1,700, with the balance of $1,700 due on January 7, 2016.  The single supplement cost is $1,930.

SINGLES
Singles are welcome.  It is recommended that singles who want a roommate first attempt to find their own.  After receipt of the initial deposit, a single without a roommate will be placed on the ride and given until 3/1/16 to find a roommate. If a roommate is not found by 3/1/16, the single may cancel with a full refund (minus the $50 BAC fee) or contact the ride leader to fully understand the additional single supplement cost.  If a single pays the single supplement of $1,930, they may continue to seek a roommate, but must plan to participate without a roommate if necessary.  The ride leader will assist by attempting to match singles that apply for the ride.

CANCELATION POLICY
The BAC registration fee is not refundable unless the entire tour is cancelled.  Refunds will depend upon whether a replacement rider signs up, and on costs that can be recouped. The amount refunded will be based on the principle that remaining tour participants will not incur any additional cost as a result of cancellations. If the canceling participant is replaced, a refund will be made at that time. If the canceling participant can't be replaced, any refund will be determined after the ride and final expense report is completed.  If a single participant cancels and another roommate cannot be found, in addition to other costs that cannot be recouped, the cancelling roommate may also be liable for the single supplement fee of the roommate remaining on the tour.
