Coast of Maine Trip Log

Day 1 Portsmouth to Old Orchard Beach Rural 54 miles. Beautiful hotel Awesome Thai buffet. Perfect riding conditions A tail wind for BAC

Day 2 Old Orchard Beach to Brunswick 59 miles bike path through Marshes 2 lighthouses downtown Portland Yarmouth lunch stop. Rolling hills LL Bean side trip was missed by many riders. Spectacular weather high around 80 degrees

Day 3 Brunswick to Boothbay Stop at Maine Maritime Museum. Beautiful weather in the 70s Got to Boothbay before Ida excellent lobster dinner stormy night at Boothbay Harbor Inn

Day 4 Boothbay Day windy morning only a few riders went on one of the rides. night time was used to explore some of Boothbay Harbor’s best restaurants.

Day 5 Boothbay Harbor to Tennant Harbor. Wet morning on River Road with aggressive drivers. Things dramatically improved after Pie Stop at Moody's Diner. Dinner and lodging at East Wind Inn. Many satisfied riders

Day 6 Tennant Harbor to Camden. Excellent reroute to Gump lighthouse. Gorgeous weather. Camden was very crowded. Nice hotel stop.

Day 7 Some riders did the Isleboro ferry and loop. unfortunately, Michael had a bike crash and was injured. He's scheduled for surgery on Tuesday.

Day 8 Camden to Blue Hill. Long ride with tough hills Penobscot observation deck was awesome. Historic Blue Hill Inn very beautiful but limited hot water

Day 9 Blue Hill base rides Multiple routes were provided ranging from 30 to 65miles Most riders went to Wooden Boat School. Not a lot of activity was happening but the ride back was very scenic with shoreline views

Day 10 Blue Hill to Bar Harbor Multiple 40-mile rides plus many riders rode Acadia National Park Loop rides

Day 11 rainy day. Early morning rides were successful. Rain off and on not much riding today

Day 12 Bar Harbor base camp
Skies cleared around noon. Many riders explored Acadia National Park Loop roads Spectacular ocean views with gorgeous scenery
