Twenty-four friendly BAC members met up in Zurich Switzerland ready to ride down the Rhone River to the Mediterranean Sea.  But before clipping in, we took a train up the breathtakingly beautiful north slope of the Alps to begin our ride at the headwaters of the Rhone in Ulrichen Switzerland.  Then it was downhill along the EuroVelo17 to Marseille, France passing through Geneva, Lyon, Avignon, Arles, tiny medieval villages, and farm fields along the way.

Sing to the tune of My Sharona with apologies to Berton Averre and Doug Fieger, and the Knack.  Ooh my little EuroVelo, dix-sept, dix-sept

When, you gonna show your water, Via Rhona?

Ooh you make my bike hum, bike run

Speeding down the hill, Via Rhona

Chorus

Never gonna stop, there’s a church, missed my turn

Follow GPS for the route, Apricots, Lavender

Don’t wanna a flat

M-m-m-y Via Rhona

River’s getting wider now, wider now

Castles on the left again, Via Rhona

Keeping it a mystery gets to me

How’d they farm up on the hill, Via Rhona

Never gonna stop, there’s a church, missed my turn

Follow GPS for the route, apricots, lavender

Don’t wanna flat

M-m-m-y Via Rhona

Avignon in my sites, Pont du Gard Via Rhona

Made it to the end

Is it just destiny, destiny

Or is dinner waiting in Marsielle

M-m-m-y Via Rhona

Never gonna stop, there’s a church, missed my turn

Follow GPS for the route, apricots, lavender

Don’t wanna flat

M-m-m-y Via Rhona
