Prague to Budapest a Historic Ride through 4 Countries

August 18th to September 6th

Ride Coordinator: Warner Griswold
Report by: Layne Zimmerman

A group of 21 of us participated in this historic ride through four countries expertly organized and lead by Alen Augustin of Sitnica tours with his nephew, Luka as the driver (and banana provider at the rest stops.. hence the nickname banana man) and coordinated by BAC leader Warner Griswold.. Our tour began in Prague in the Czech Republic and ended in Budapest, Hungary.. We were treated to many lovely châteaus, cathedrals and other  historical sites, did walking tours in several of the cities and enjoyed riding mostly on remote roads through fields of sunflowers, wheat, and corn. We stayed in excellent hotels and each day were treated to a buffet breakfast where we managed to make a lunch to take on the road. The Prague Castle is the largest in the world..Cesky Krumlov is dominated by its 13th century castle, Bratislava was a fascinating city under the domination of several countries until 1993 when it became the capital of an independence Slovakia. Our last stop was Budapest, a beautiful city on the banks of the Danube..Many of us extended the trip to enjoy more of the city.

This was a delightful tour with a wonderful group of people.
